About Laura

As soon as Laura began painting in her teen years she knew art and a creative life was her path. Having grown up deep in mathematics and science, she was eventually introduced to visionary and psychedelic art, graffiti, and further exploration of the natural world. Life was no longer only what she had seen on the surface, there were worlds and dimensions beyond what is right before us. She developed a personal drive to tell stories that had no words, and to explore visuals beyond the ordinary. Bringing these states of being, of seeing and of feeling back to others has been a mission ever since.

Drawn to the larger-than-life rainforests and beaches along with the artistic cultures of the west coast, she moved from the Great Lakes in Canada to Vancouver BC to pursue her Bachelors in Fine Arts. It was here in Vancouver that she found a side of tattooing which was expansive and artistic, led by a few creative powerhouses of west coast tattooing. She began her tattoo apprenticeship in 2008 and further years of work led her across Canada to develop her skills.

In 2016 Laura set out from Canada for extensive international travel across six continents, exploring art, art history, the natural world from deserts to scuba diving, and meeting phenomenal friends from across the world of cultures. She eventually landed in New York City to work with Kings Avenue Tattoo. Her focus on black and grey tattooing is complemented by her creative work, predominantly exploring deeper realms of being and the natural world through painting and charcoal. She continues to push her painting through continuing courses and self study.
